Cardio Leg Blast is super charged with both cardio and strength exercises that build lean muscle mass and burn body fat like an incinerator. It consists of traditional weighted exercises followed by plyometric exercises to develop power and explosive strength as well as tight and toned legs. The key to this workout is finding a moderately challenging weight for each of the strength exercises (versus a super heavy weight) so that your legs have the proper recovery time and ability to jump right into the next plyometric drill that follows it. This is a good workout, the exercises included are highly effective for working out the lower body.  That said, it's not my favorite.  As another reviewer suggests, the music is off on this one - and many of the exercises are "off beat" - which if perfectly fine of course, except that it somehow makes the workout feel longer mentally than it really is.  I will keep it in my rotation, but not sure it will be a "Go To".

I am a plyo lover I must admit. This workout truly does what is said on the tin! It does meet the purpose of offering a challenging cardio short burst while building lean muscles. Butt and Gut which I also like cater for an endurance purpose. This work out is my number one favourite from X-train series. It is  also versatile as you can select the weight load according to your own abilities. I truly felt it till the end. I even added a riser at the last segment consisting of step up. That was my way of finishing it strong. icing on the cake.I highly recommend this to those who do not have knees issues and are willing to build leg muscle while having fun. Power is what leg needs for some of us.

This is probably one of my favorite Cathe workouts for two reasons: 1, it is SUPER tough. I am completely winded, sweating, and shaking by the end - a good indication you just worked your butt off. Ha! 2, I love HIIT style training and heavy weight lifting (especially for the lower body). So, this workout basically combines my two favorite things. I get an awesome cardio workout while also getting a great lower body weight workout. The actual workout cycles through rounds - each round consisting of a heavy weight segment for the lower body and a cardio segment. Time flies by and I feel thoroughly worked by the end

I have been doing Cathe workouts for about 7 years.  This is a good workout with tons of squats, lunges and deadlifts with cardio segments mixed in.  I would say, however, that Butts and Guts is more difficult.  Cathe gives great instruction throughout the DVD and encouragement as usual!  I thought the music was awful in this DVD, though...very cheesy remixes of popular songs with some bad singers.  I hope she will vamp up the soundtracks on her next DVDs and make them more current and modern.  Overall, pleased with the DVD but it's not her best.  Still a good workout.

Not as bad as I thought March 27, 2013

I'm actually happy I gave this a chance. Honestly, I've always avoided plyometrics- not that I have bad knees, but I just don't enjoy jumping around too much. However, this really wasn't bad at all- and you can still modify it to where it's still challenging anyway...in case you want to avoid jumping.
