I've been doing Cathe workouts for over 25 years and didn't own this one because I only had Cathe's advanced workouts. Now I'm coming back from an injury and working back up to my previous fitness level and needed something to work back up while still getting my Cathe fix. This step routine has several of my favorite moves and is still a cardiovascular challenge done on 8'. I love that it's 40 minutes long and easy to fit into my schedule. The bonus weight segment is easily adjustable using different weights, and, at 30 minutes, is a fabulously quick way to get in a total body weight workout when short on time.

Please note that my review is focused on the step workout solely as that is the primary reason I purchased this DVD.
I admit that I underestimated this workout because when I first watched this DVD, it seemed quite easy enough as I wanted something that was not too hectic but would be a bit challenging. Needless to say, this step workout, while not as challenging as Cathe's other cardio DVDs, made me work up a sweat and had me breathless in a few parts. I recommend this DVD if you want a good step cardio workout that's easy on the joints. This is good for a mid-week break between weight sessions.

In November 2011 I started out with this dvd and low impact step and right away started noticing the weight dropping without dieting. Diet is a 4-letter word to me. I'll try to portion control instead.
I'm 47, 5/5 and was 135. By January, 127. Now I'm yo-yoing between 123 -125. Basically for my body, the step has been the perfect exercise routine to get me back into shape, with also adding circuit training. End of December I added Butts and Gutts and Athetlic training, and now have added several other dvds to my collection.
I had been doing Insanity for about 6 months and loved being able to accomplish it, but I only lost a few pounds but gained tremendous endurance, so that's when I decided to try something different and I'm hooked on Cathe. Cathe's workouts have changed my body so much.

This was my first Cathe DVD and is a great place for people who are new to her style to learn. When I first got this it was very challenging to me; I now use the high stop and do power moves but I still love it, and I use this when I want an easier workout. I highly recommend this to those new to step - she explains all the moves well.
