Turbo Barre Exercise DVD

This results oriented low impact workout focuses on strength, flexibility, and high energy fun. If you don't already own my Turbo Tower, feel free to use a chair to participate in this workout.

This workout routine is the ultimate long and lean total body strengthening workout and uses most of the same methods that many professional dancers use when they train. Expect to combine elements of pilates, yoga, and ballet, drizzled with some light cardio benefits for an excellent total body conditioning workout. After a warm up, you’ll strengthen the upper and lower body with light to moderate handweights. Have a lighter and heavier set handy so you can quickly make adjustments to challenge your muscles appropriately. After the handweight conditioning segment, you’ll get your turbo bar or a chair for a very challenging lower body leg strengthening segment. Finally you’ll conclude with a very intense core workout!

This workout features your “vocals only” option which allows you to play your own music if desired.

The time breakdown of Turbo Barre is as follows ( warm up 10:41, upper/lower body muscle endurance 10:54, leg work with firewalker loops 6:37, ballet barre leg conditioning 27:31, floorwork 4:05, abs/core 7:34, stretch 7:42) - Total time 74 min.

OMG! This one is tough !!!  Easy to follow moves but your muscles (thighs and buttocks particularly) will be exhausted and sore...  and the abdominals are hard. Wow!! This is an amazing workout. Thank you Cathe and please do another dvd using the barre, it is great and best of all , different.

I downloaded this DVD because I wanted a low impact but challenging workout, and this turned out to be more than I expected!  I absolutely love this DVD, it's challenging for me but doable even for a beginner.  I was exhausted when done and felt I got the best workout.  Highly recommend this for anyone!  Love, love, love this DVD!!!!!

I hope Cathe makes more of these!  I've been doing Cathe since 1997 and I'm an advanced exerciser.  I do the same weight Cathe does in her workouts, so I can lift a lot!  But this workout will make you feel it (mostly in the lower body) like no weight workout!  This dvd is such a compliment to heavy weight workouts.  You're using your muscles differently and it's tough!  I've been doing Callanetics, Barre workouts, Lotte Berk, etc... and this is just a more "Cathe" version of those - which I love!!

It took me 6 weeks of doing Turbo Barre once per week before I could do it all without pausing.  Now I don't need to break, but it is still challenging. I see a real improvement in my legs, more than with Cathe's other lower body targeted workouts.  Granted, everyone is different and what works for one, may not work for others, but this one is definitely effective for me.

I'm not a fan of the short weight section at the beginning of the workout.  It doesn't seem like it fits with the rest of the program and it's not enough to make a dent  in cardio or strength in my opinion.

I find myself looking forward to doing this DVD.  I also really love being barefoot! It's easy to pull out a chair and a looped band and get cranking.
