I absolutely love the exercises you can do with these discs, but they can be a bit of a challenge on carpet. For exercises like lunges, they're great but when doing cardio moves like jacks or something, they don't slide as great like they do on hardwood floors. So unless you like the added resistance on the carpet, I would probably recommend these for hardwood flooring instead.

These discs are amazing! The covers attach and release easily and quickly and allows you to work on mulitple surfaces without having to invest in multiple sets of discs unlike other brands. They slide nicely on both my plush carpeting and hardwood flooring. They thick and sturdy and IMO, a better quality than another brand which I threw out. I've found using her discs with all types of lunges has been a saving grace for my knees; I could never do lunges without flaring the arthritis. However thanks to these discs, I now love traditional lunges!!!

I used paper plates for a long time and figured they worked fine, though they scratched hardwood a bit and were really noisy on ribbed carpeting. But I finally bought Cathe's discs and am SO glad I did. They are fabulous and are dead silent on carpet. They are very durable and are much more slippery than paper plates so you can focus more on your exercises and less on trying not to lose the plates. Cathe's discs are quite hard plastic (like frisbees without the lip) and have thick felt covers (with elastic). I haven't used the covers but they seem like they'd be great, too.

Much Better Than Paper Plates!

I recently got the Slide and Glide discs for to use with the Slide and Glide workout DVD and for the parts of the STS Legs workout where a paper plate is used. I workout on carpet and these discs work great, they slide nicely and are much better than paper plates. The only thing they need is more slip grip on the surfaces, sometimes during the S&G workout I would have to keep repositioning my feet so they wouldn't slip off. But overall, they're worth the money and the Slide and Glide is a great workout DVD too. I love the Double Trouble premix!
